Trial alerts are public-facing and include the claim CTA button.

Advanced logs are optional and best used in private moderator channels.

What it does (plain English)

Trial alerts: when Snowyweeb creates or updates free trials, the bot can post a rich embed with a Claim Free Trial button that links to our site.
Mod logs (optional): if you turn it on, the bot can log deleted messages (content and attachments when possible, plus best-effort “who deleted” via audit log).

Slash commands you will use

Important: commands that set channels require a channel ID.

Enable Discord Developer Mode (User Settings → Advanced).
Right-click your channel → Copy Channel ID.
Paste it into commands like /trial_alert_channel channel_id:<id> and /modlog_channel channel_id:<id>.

Trial alerts (server staff)

/trial_alert_channel channel_id:<id> — set which channel trial alerts go to
/trial_alert_mention_mode — everyone, specific roles, or none
/trial_alert_role_add / /trial_alert_role_remove — roles to ping (only if mode is roles)
/trial_alert_settings — current setup

Mod logs (server owner only)

/modlog_channel channel_id:<id> — set channel for delete logs
/modlog_status — what is configured
/modlog_disable — turn logging off

Why the bot asks for these permissions

For trial alerts (posting in your alert channel): View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links. If you use mention modes, Mention Everyone or Mention Roles may be needed so Discord allows the ping you chose. If you do not want pings, set mention mode to none.

For mod logs: View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links in the log channel. View Audit Log is strongly recommended so “deleted by” is accurate more often.

Why some commands are staff or owner only

Trial alert settings can trigger server-wide notifications and choose where alerts appear, so they should only be changed by trusted staff. Mod logs can include sensitive deleted content, so only the server owner should pick where those logs go.

Quick setup (about 2 minutes)

Invite the bot with this link and ensure slash commands are available.
Run /trial_alert_channel and pick your alerts channel.
Run /trial_alert_mention_mode to match your community.
Optional: server owner runs /modlog_channel in a private staff channel.
Confirm with /trial_alert_settings and /modlog_status.

Snowyweeb sends signed webhooks for trial events; your server controls where messages appear and Discord enforces permissions.

Privacy + moderation notes

Trial alerts do not reveal account passwords and can be configured with no pings.
Message logger is optional and should be configured only in trusted staff channels.
Without Audit Log permission, deleted-by attribution may show unknown more often.

What is coming later

This bot is built to grow with Snowyweeb. We may add more alert types (restocks, promos), richer filters per server, optional language or branding tweaks, and other quality-of-life commands. We will announce major changes on the site and in /botinfo when they ship.
